Gerry Carroll


Gerry firmly believes in a sustainable future and finding new, more effective and efficient ways to develop and deploy technology. Gerry is Founder (1989), Chairman and CEO of Object Consulting. He is also Chairman of Sustainable Business Australia, a business advocacy group promoting commercial solutions to environmental challenges. He is an alumni of the University of Cambridge’s Prince of Wales’ Business and the Environment (BEP) initiative for sustainability leadership. Gerry has been personally involved in beef cattle farming for the last 20 years. Earlier roles include Vice President of Information Systems for the ABN Bank in New York.

Alasdair MacLeod


In 2010, after a 20-year career with News Corp in London and Sydney, Alasdair founded Macdoch Ventures, a Sydney based Angel Investor focussing on helping start-ups succeed in today’s interactive digital media marketplace. Passionate in his belief that digital technology and data management can bring improved operating practices across the Agricultural sector, he is the co-founder of Maia Technology. He is also director of Soils for Life, an organisation dedicated to encouraging the adoption of sustainable farming practices. Alasdair runs a family-owned beef cattle operation in the New England Tablelands in NSW.

Bert Glover

Director, Agriculture Specialist

Bert brings over 10 years of experience in large scale property management in New South Wales. He specialises in grazing systems and the provision of supply chain solutions for vertically integrated businesses including wool, beef and lamb helping corporate and private clients customise and implement their business strategies and maximise their return on investment. Bert is a Director of Impact Ag Partners Pty Ltd, Director of Wilmot Natural Beef, and Non-Executive Director of Australian Land Management Group.

Peter Richardson

Chief Executive Officer

Peter has over 30 years’ experience in innovative software development, product strategy and design. Peter cofounded Natural Carbon, a carbon project developer generating new revenue streams for farmers and landowners focussed on grazing and grassland management, where he remains an Executive Director. Previously he founded InfoMedix, a company providing electronic medical record software. He has a B.Eng and an M.EngSc from Monash University.

Bart Davidson

Agriculture Specialist and Customer Engagement

As a consultant for over 15 years across a diverse range of farming operations, Bart applies a system based approach, relying on principle, to work with and train land managers in the development of and reporting to farm nutrient management plans. Bart’s experience spans throughout the agriculture sector, from low input certified organic systems through to high input, intensive dairy and irrigated cotton and grains.
He has developed training workshops for NRM organisations, Australian Land Management Group (ALMG) and individual farmer groups.

Brett McDowall

Chief Technology Officer

Brett brings more than 25 years of extensive experience in the vision, architecture, analysis, design, management and implementation of major projects. He has always been an innovator using his deep understanding of technology and software engineering to solve tough business challenges across a diverse range of industry sectors including finance, telecommunication, government and agriculture. Brett is responsible for driving Maia Technology’s technical and architectural direction.

Colin Feilen

Executive Channel Manager

Colin hails from livestock background on the Southern Monaro of NSW where he grew up on the family sheep and cattle property. Colin brings over 15 years business development experience to Maia Technology forged in sectors spanning agriculture, environment, telecommunications and corporate services. Colin holds a degree in Systems Agriculture from UWS (HAC).

Ashley Strom

Client Support Officer

Ashely manages product support for Maia Technology. Having grown up on her family's sheep and cattle property in the central west of NSW, Ashley went on to gain a Degree in Rural Science and Graduate Certificate of Management through the University of New England (UNE), Armidale. Since then Ashley has gained invaluable livestock industry experience through various roles within vertically integrated beef organisations.
